Mr. Palsson is currently Professor of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Medicine and a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.  Most recently he has been Director of the Data Coordination Center, Rome Foundation Global Study of the Epidemiology of Functional GI Disorders, Co-Chair, and 2016 Scientific Program of the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis. He will soon begin as research manager of the newly formed Rome Foundation Research Institute.  Dr. Palsson has been Advisory Editor, American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis, Associate Editor of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback and reviewer for numerous GI related journals. He has much experience and interest in the areas of behavioral medicine, clinical hypnosis, applied psychophysiology and biofeedback and clinical psychology. He has authored many book chapters, hundreds of published papers, and professional presentations. Dr Palsson has won awards for his work from the ACG, NASA, The Rome Foundation, and the American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis.
