The benefits of gut directed hypnotherapy have been shown in studies to reduce the severity and frequency of symptoms in patients with Disorders of Gut Brain Interaction. However, symptom based anxieties and depression are not unique to patients with DGBI but are prevalent in patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disorders as well.
