Title: Validation of the pediatric Rome IV criteria.

Background: Studies have shown that about 1 in 4 children suffer from a functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGID), making this one of the most common disorders encountered in pediatric gastroenterology clinics. Establishment of symptom-based criteria for pediatric by the Rome committee considerably advanced the diagnosis and study of children who suffer from FGIDs. The Rome III criteria are in the process of being updated to be responsive to the new information and data collected on pediatric FGIDs. These new Rome IV criteria will include several changes to existing disorders as well as include new diagnoses, and are therefore in need of validation.

Aims:The current study aims to test and validate the pediatric Rome IV criteria. This includes both the criteria in infants/toddlers and the criteria in children/adolescents.
