Role-play with Simulated Patients Group Two
33 minutes
In this small group session the participants playing the clinician interview a simulated patient who is given clinical information as well as information about underlying psychological factors that may be affecting the illness. In the first simulation the patient is a professional woman with abdominal pain. In the second simulation the patient is a man with Crohn’s disease presenting with a new pain. In both situations the clinician is able to elicit an underlying secret. There is an opportunity to observe the interaction and determine what factors allow the patient to disclose their secret.
