Joint Rome Foundation-Ukrainian GI Webinars
The Rome Foundation was invited to partner with our colleagues from the Ukrainian Gastroenterological Association to provide access to our educational webinars for their members as they work to address the many needs of patients with DGBI possibly worsening since the onset of the war.
We know that DGBI conditions are multifaceted and can be exacerbated by intense stress and trauma. It was the Rome Foundation’s hope that this small act of providing videos would assist in one small, but meaningful way as our colleagues there face unprecedented times.
This May, we learned that our gesture was well received. Igor Skrypnyk and Oleg Shvets, the President and program director of the society, expressed gratitude for Rome Foundation’s support of the Ukrainian gastroenterologists during this time of terrifying warfare in Ukraine. They conducted their first webinar with two simultaneously translated Grand Rounds from Rome Foundation: A Deep-Dive into Central Neuromodulators and Diet and DGBI. In addition, they presented an educational session with Ukrainian professors. The entire event was very successful: 1,184 registered doctors and 1,100 in attendance.
The Ukrainian Association has scheduled more webinars and has asked the Rome Foundation to provide more videos, including: DGBI Overlapping with Organic Disease and Post COVID and DGBI. We are pleased to continue this engagement to support our colleagues as best we can as they seek to reach out to help their DGBI patients.
Ukrainian Gastroenterological Association Partnership
The Rome Foundation is pleased to be able to partner with our colleagues from the Ukrainian Gastroenterological Association to provide complementary access to our educational webinars for their members as they work to address the many needs of patients with DGBI throughout the country. We know that these conditions are multifaceted and can be exacerbated by intense stress and trauma. We hope that this small act will assist in one small but meaningful way as our colleagues there face unprecedented times.
