The Rome IV criteria are extensively used to diagnose DGBI in epidemiological, pathophysiological research, and treatment trials. 

The Rome Foundation Clinical Diagnostic Criteria for Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBI) pocket card and the Clinical Diagnostic Criteria contained within are to be used only as a resource for clinical practice use. A license agreement must accompany the use in research or clinical studies, and fees must be paid, if applicable.
