This year at DDW, the Lectureship was featured in the DDW Daily News.

The Rome Foundation and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) were pleased to announce their 7th annual lectureship at Digestive Diseases Week (DDW). The lectureship is designed to address broad aspects of health care that are relevant to digestive diseases and the functional GI disorders. This year the theme i “Understanding and Treating the Brain’s Contribution to Pain”.

Learning Objectives:
  • To elucidate the mechanisms within the central nervous system that play a role in chronic somatic and visceral pain.
  • To discuss the behavioral treatment interventions for the management of chronic abdominal pain.
  • To describe the centrally-acting pharmacologic agents that are beneficial in the treatment of chronic abdominal pain.
