Over the past, 2 years Douglas A. Drossman MD and Johannah Ruddy M.Ed. have been covering a range of topics that deal with everything from understanding the variety of DGBIs, communication skills, diagnostic and treatment options and everything in between. Based on their popularity on Facebook, it is clear that these brief educational discussions will be a great resource for years to come for both providers and patients alike.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How We\u2019re Doing It<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We\u2019ve now created a page on our site just for these videos. Under resources, you\u2019ll see <a href=\"https:\/\/theromefoundation.org\/patient-educational-q-a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Patient Educational Q &amp; A<\/a>. The page is divided into subcategories that identify the main topic. Many videos can fit into more than one topic, for instance the Ineffective\/Effective interview in the Communication section could also apply to the Bowel Disorders section as the discussion is with a patient that has IBS. However, the primary purpose of them is to show effective communication skills and how they can improve the patient\/provider relationship. So be sure to check out videos that you think may have common .<\/p>\n<p>The page will continue to grow and be updated each time a new Q &amp; A video premiers on Facebook. We are reaching out to thought leaders on the Rome Foundation Board of Directors and other experts in the areas we are discussing to have varied input and more information. We would also like to hear from you! We want to talk about topics that you want to learn about. While you\u2019re there, we\u2019d appreciated it if you made sure to like and follow our accounts.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Our Goal<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Our goal is to have as much information available possible to both patients and providers to spread knowledge of DGBIs. We are working to reduce the amount of stigma associated with these disorders and improve the patient\/provider relationship.
